Description
Who said physics had to be boring? The Illuminating Newtons Cradle puts that little rumour to bed and helps to throw a little light on the subject at the same time! The original Newtons Cradle was devised by Simon Prebble, in 1967. Most of us remember how it works: you lift up one of the five suspended balls and let it swing into the others. Here's the sciencey bit: the potential energy of that first ball is converted into kinetic energy, which is then passed onto the other balls in the sequence. The Illuminating Newtons Cradle follows exactly the same principle, but with one major difference: it lights up! There are three light settings to play with. The first makes all the balls blue, the second makes them all red and the third (and probably the coolest) makes the balls light up on impact! Is it a science experiment? Is it a desk-toy? Is it a way to soothe yourself into a trance-like state and get nothing done? You decide! · Illuminating Newtons Cradle · Size: 20cm (H) x 18cm (W) x 15.5cm (D) · Requires six AA batteries · Some assembly required
